Background and Objectives: Presenteeism is defined as a global phenomenon under the title of problems of workers who are present at work, but due to illness, boredom, unwellness or other medical conditions do not fully perform the necessary work .The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between presenteeism and labor productivity and job stress among the employees of a company under the Ministry of Oil.
Methods: Study subjects were randomly selected according to Cochran's formula and among the official employees of one of the provincial gas companies. Study data were collected using Stanford University scale (SPS-6) and Health and Work Questionnaire (HWQ). To check the significance of presenteeism among employees, the t-tech test was used. Data analysis was done in SPSS version 26 software.
Results: In this research, it was found that 27 people (46%) of the people in the project are presentees and 32 people (54%) are non-presentees. The results showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between the phenomenon of presenteeism and the subcategories of productivity (r=0.003) and the subcategories of job stress (r=0.016), and the more people have presenteeism, the higher their job stress .
Conclusion: In this research, it was found that the higher the level of parasitism, the lower the productivity of the labor force and the higher the level of job stress, which imposes a lot of costs on the organization.
