Background and Objectives
Examining the indicators of physical fitness and health-related fitness and anthropometric in workers is very important to prevent performance reduction. Therefore, this study aims to Investigating indicators of physical and health-related fitness and anthropometric characteristics in different age groups of employees of Izogam Shargh Company.
Methods
In this study, 150 workers from 150 stations selected by simple stratified sampling and placed in three groups aged I: 25-34, II: 35-44 and III: 45-54 years. Measuring dimension body composition, and physical and health-related fitness included endurance of shoulder muscles, upper limb endurance, flexibility, agility, explosive power and maximum oxygen consumption. In order to compare variables in three age groups, one way variance analysis and Tukey correction test were used.
Results
Three groups showed a significant difference in body composition (including weight, body mass index, body fat percentage and waist to hip ratio) and physical and health-related fitness (including endurance of shoulder muscles, upper limb endurance, flexibility, agility, explosive power and maximum oxygen consumption) (P<0.05).
Conclusion
The results of this study showed that with increasing age, the level of physical fitness of employee's decreases. Therefore, it is suggested that top managers of organizations provide the necessary background for employees to engage in regular physical activity.
