خطاهای پرستاری از راه‌های مختلف مطالعه شده است. این مطالعات نه‌ تنها برای شناسایی خطاهای پرستاران بوده، بلکه با هدف تقویت دانش و آگاهی در زمینه علل احتمالی و عوامل پیشگیری از آن انجام‌ شده است.
